About The Bravery Box:
The Bravery Box was founded by Brisbane mum Tanya Allan, who has supported her 9 year old daughter Lara throughout leukaemia treatments.

Tanya recognised the need for a toy drive that would provide continued support and encouragement for children in hospital.

Over time, The Bravery Box has evolved into a fundraising body that supports research into kids’ cancer. In collaboration with community and health professionals, the team from Bravery Box also facilitate programs that support the social and emotional health of children and families impacted by cancer.

About The Kids’ Cancer Project:
The Kids’ Cancer Project is an independent national charity supporting childhood cancer research. Their mission is to support bold science that has the greatest chance of clinical success to improve childhood cancer treatments. The Kids’ Cancer Project envisions a future with a one hundred per cent survival rate for children with cancer.

A word from our Founder:

When our six year old daughter, Lara, was diagnosed with Leukaemia I did a lot of pretending. Pretending to be OK. Pretending to be optimistic and pretending to laugh. I did all this pretending for our children, for others so they didn't have to share my pain and quite a bit for myself, because I didn't know HOW to be sad or HOW to grieve our daughters health or how to genuinely connect with other families with very sick children.

Learning to accept a life with childhood cancer, seeing Lara so sick and learning how to help her be joyful during her trickiest times, so she didn't miss out on her childhood, was HARD.

Meet more Bravery Box Children
I don’t want any family with a new diagnosis of childhood cancer to feel lost and alone, ever again… so I founded Bravery Box and we started hosting fabulous parties for grown ups, to fund our work.

My life's work will be to continue to cushion the blow for families unlucky enough to pull the childhood cancer card from life's deck.

Cushion the blow with mad awesome mental health support, community groups and sprinkling a little joy and sunshine around like confetti to help celebrate a childhood, with cancer.
